Meet Vivian Ramos
Vivian is recognized as both the Global Leader and the Extraordinary Volunteer in South San Francisco and the SF Bay Area.
“You can only serve people if you have love in your heart."
"Everything we own is a gift from God that is to be developed and shared to help others."
Vivian Ramos, a South City Cultural Arts Commissioner, is deeply committed to community involvement. She plays a key role in gathering outstanding volunteers for the annual SSF Police Department Thanksgiving Food Distribution Drive and the SSF Fire Department Holiday Toy Drive. Her St. Joseph Ministry partnered with South City in donating hundreds of Hygiene Kits and Snack Kits for the Homeless. Recently, her team of volunteers co-sponsored “An Evening of Dinner & Music” with South City for our seniors. At the dinner, she brought her Praise & Glorify Choir to serenade the seniors at the Teglia Center as they offered them tulips. Many seniors broke down in tears of appreciation.
Vivian is a very active leader-volunteer in various organizations of St. Augustine Church, the largest in the 90+ churches in the San Francisco Archdiocese in terms of number of parishioners. St. Augustine is located right in the heart of Westborough, in District 2.
She is Vice Chair of Parish Pastoral Council and heads its Communication Ministry. She also founded AugustineTV, which uses technology to livestream the Masses and events globally. She co-founded the St. Joseph’s Ministry, developing outreach programs for our less fortunate neighbors in South San Francisco.
Vivian is also member of the Praise & Glorify Choir, an award-winning choir, which actively volunteers it's time to South San Francisco events.
Vivian extends her service to the entire San Francisco Bay Area as an Ambassador of Catholic Charities. She was awarded the Heart of the Community Award Medal along with her team ambassadors. During the holidays, Vivian organizes several personalized gift-giving programs for Catholic Charities, including a toy drive for infants and children, presents for seniors, gifts for men who are recovering from addiction, and for those being treated for mental health.
Vivian is a Global Leader in Finance, Operations, & Technology
Vivian Ramos is a very experienced global leader with unparalleled level of integrity. She has over three decades of corporate leadership experience, both with very large corporations and start-up companies. She has a track record of developing high performing teams of people with diverse backgrounds. All these, while maintaining her life's purpose, which is to serve others in her community wholeheartedly.
At Franklin Templeton - In her mid-twenties, she joined Franklin Templeton, the mutual fund giant now with $1.5 trillion in Asset Under Management. Her love for leading people and being results-driven fast-tracked the first 8 years of her career to managing global Portfolio Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Regulatory Reporting teams.
At Charles Schwab - After Franklin Templeton, she worked for 8 years at Charles Schwab, the largest broker-dealer firm in the world ($3.7 trillion in Assets Under Management) in various executive and officer roles such as Vice President of Portfolio Operations, Vice President of Fund Administration and Compliance, and also Assistant Treasurer of the SchwabFunds. At Schwab, Vivian was instrumental in delivering the most robust broker-dealer reporting in the world, a $100 million project! She led 100 technologists and 17 project managers and created new operational teams. As far back as 24 years ago, Vivian was one of the founding members of Schwab's Inclusion and Diversity Committee.
Back to Franklin Templeton - Vivian found herself needed back at Franklin Templeton as Director of three Global Investment Operation Organizations: Investment Security Data Master, Fund Performance Administration, and Compliance System Administrations. All these three teams were in 6 global locations in the US, Asia, and Europe. Concurrently, she was also the US West Coast Head of the firm's Investment Operations, the highest operations position in the home office.
CFO/COO to Revere Data - At Revere Data, a premier data firm, Vivian turned a start-up around from struggling financially to a profitable enterprise as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
Following the acquisition of Revere Data, Vivian joined FactSet as a Senior Vice President. In this role, she led the development of new products for clients in Europe, the US, and AsiaPac, achieving a remarkable 40% year-over-year increase in sales of Revere products over five years. Additionally, she played a crucial role in mentoring and guiding FactSet employees worldwide into new roles, setting them up for success.
Back to Franklin Templeton - Vivian was asked to rejoin Franklin Templeton in San Mateo for the 3rd time. It was timely, as she needed to be at her mother's bedside in the ICU for 71 days until she passed away. Then for three years, she took care of her father at her home until he too passed. Family sacrifice comes first for her. Through these heartbreaking ordeals, she was still able to forge long hours and deliver excellence in various executive positions at Franklin Templeton as their Senior Vice President of Relationship & Change Management of Investment Management, SVP of Global Market Data Services, and then SVP for Information Technology before retiring from the corporate world.
Vivian is Unstoppable! Retirement from the corporate world does not mean a slowdown for Vivian. She has no off-switchfor her volunteer work and for helping people. Serving her South City community and those who need her in the world is much more meaningful to her than her impressive corporate career. You can find her delivering her Master Classes via Zoom monthly, packed with global participants around the world to learn interviewing skills and how to write outstanding resumes so they can receive job offers and improve their economic well-being. Her life-long advocacies are mentoring young professionals, breaking the glass ceiling for women, and helping others to better their lives.
"My priorities are simple - my faith, my family, my friends, and my beloved South San Francisco community."
Vivian has been a cherished member of the South City community for decades, where she has raised her beloved family. Her husband Glenn, children Chris (and wife Mara), Julian (and wife Reanne), Anthony, their two grandchildren, and the extended family, are all her pride and joy.
