Sunday, June 23, 2024  - Make Bike & Pedestrian Access at Westborough & Junipero Safe and Enjoyable

organized the event with SSF engineer Lawrence Henriquez. We started the discussion in November 2023 before I even intended to run for City Council. Finally, we made it happen.

We asked for feedback from parishioners during the Donut & Coffee Fellowship on how to make Westborough & Junipero Serra's bike and pedestrian access safer. Most parishioners live around Westborough Blvd (in our District 2),  just the next main block from St. Augustine. The QR code for the survey was posted for over a week on the church's website, Facebook page, and the "Flocknote" of Fr. Ray Reyes. Thanks to councilmember Flor Nicolas who also joined in promoting the Bike Lanes for the Boulevards, SSF project.

Flyer above - Do you like the flyer I drafted? Scan the QR code and share your ideas to make our bikers, pedestrians, and drivers safe in our District 2 (Westborough area).

June 23, 2024 - Violent Intruder Training & Emergency Preparedness Training

Public safety is my number one and everyday priority. And I am all about community engagement in everything that I do! I am extremely proud of our partnerships with our Police, Fire, and Safety Officers. It is critical in keeping our city safe.

I helped host the workshop and welcomed Sgt. Sean Curmi back, who did an exceptional job in giving to about 170 lay ministers SSF's Violent Intruder Training. We are grateful as he gave this training during his day off!  This is also the second group at St. Augustine that he provided this critical training since the shooting of our church's building in January this year.

It was followed by an awesome interactive presentation by Mr. Derek Gaskin, Director of Safety & Security of the Archdiocese of San Francisco on SB 553  Workplace Violence Prevention Training, which satisfied compliance before the July 1 deadline.

We appreciate the leadership & care of our Parish and the Safety committee, Flor Nicolas, a South City councilmember stopped by and supported District 2 Residents & St. Augustine residents and parishioners, SSFPD, and the Archdiocese Safety & Security program.
